Cathy, if I were you I´d at least wait and see today´s post first, but thanks a lot :)
Dawn, no Lauren happened to notice I was in Edinburgh and asked if we would like to meet her. We certainly would; she was a brilliant guide and a really nice person to get to know.
Seanag, we had :) (especially as there was no lock on the gate).
Is that photo of Fleshmarket Close, by any chance?
Sadly, I did not find out Lauren lived in Edinburgh until I was on my way out of Scotland, ============== Detectives Beyond Borders "Because Murder Is More Fun Away From Home" http://detectivesbeyondborders.blogspot.com/
Peter, actually it was just a private back yard. It was quite charming, thought, at least when we had removed some bags of rubbish in order to take the photo.
Peter and Dorte, the yard is actually Riddell's Court. (AKA Riddle's Court, as there seems to be no agreement on the spelling.)
Among other things, it was David Hume's home before he moved to James' Court as featured on your blog. And there's an unusual Danish connection too - see http://www.edinburgh-royalmile.com/closes/close-riddles.html
Dorte, it was lovely to meet you, and I'm glad you had a nice time in Edinburgh. Peter - maybe next time!
Lauren, how embarrassing that I didn´t ask my husband what it was - because actually he remembers as it is related to Hume (he is the philosopher of the family). But as I told you, my memory ...
And Scotland was wonderful - Edinburgh as well as Land´s End (Ardnamurchan). I hope we will meet again some time, Lauren, and remember to let me hear when you find a job.

Should I post bail? :)
Enjoy your trip!
What a fun photo! Had you met Lauren before this trip? It sounds like you're getting along fabulously :)
You know, I'd worry, if it didn't look like you two were having a pretty darn good time.
It's a suitable place for those with criminal intent.
LOL! Hope you get out of jail soon.
I'll bring you some bread and water as soon as I can.

Bookwitch, I certainly felt at home there! (They didn´t serve food, however so ....)
Beth, thank you.
Julia, that is very good of you :)
