Short Saturday

As I am having a short Saturday (going off to a celebration tonight), I have decided to spend my day washing & writing, instead of blogging.

No problem, as I am sure many of my readers are going to enjoy this post with some glimpses of a charming capital just as much as my reviews anyway.

Heard about Harry Potter?

If you have read J.K. Rowling´s Harry Potter books, you probably also know that she wrote large parts of the series sitting around in local cafés. Here is one of them, The Elephant House in Edinburgh.

Did we have lunch there? No. Tim showed it to us, but we concluded too many fans were queuing up already.

PARTNERS IN CRIME

Here you see another ´consequence´ of me having advertised my holiday in Edinburgh: my husband and I met Tim, a reader of my blog, who works in the old town of Edinburgh.

He invited us for a cup of coffee, and will you believe it or not: the bag I am holding in my hand contains a very special present for me (see below). And they say Scotsmen are stingy. No way! I was quite touched, actually.

We met Lauren, a blogger friend who is in Edinburgh taking a phd (for another few days) this afternoon, and had a wonderful, guided tour in the old town and the university.
