When Amazon tempts you

Well, Amazon.uk have tempted me with books they think they can sell me quite often, but yesterday was actually the first time I just rushed off to buy (even pre-order) a brand-new book. But somehow they had sussed that I might be the target group of this one:

Riley Adams, Delicious and Suspicious, a Memphis BBQ mystery. Riley Adams is a pen-name for Elizabeth Spann Craig, my American blog friend who wrote a post about cozy mysteries for me recently.

Elizabeth, I couldn´t help it. Your book screams ´read me, read me´. And I have such a good excuse: if I want to write cosies, I´d better read some more of them. The book doesn´t even cost very much - did you hear that you people out there?

NB: my husband and I are going off for a few days in our cottage, just the two of us, so I had better not promise you a lot of posts the next days.

Oh then I know what to spend my Amazon Gift Voucher on that I'm hoping to win this week ;-)

Thats the trouble with all those adverts you get from Amazon. I sometimes find myself desperately wanting books I'd never even heard of until Amazon sent me the information.

What a great idea, Bente! And I am sure Elizabeth will keep her fingers crossed for you :D

Tracy: I am *very* good at not reading them, but I was so proud when I saw the title of this one: "Delicious and Suspicious". I thought, wow, this is a writer I know!

Hope you enjoy your time off. I love cozies and this does look good.

Dorte - Oh, you made the right choice : ). I can't wait to get my copy of Delicious and Suspicious, too! Yummy! Also am looking forward to your review of it.

Dorte, you definitely made a wise pick with "Delicious and Suspicious." I think you will like the characters, especially Lulu Taylor. She's a card, so to speak. It's a fun read. Have fun during your few days off.

Oh, I'm so pleased to have a tempting book! :) Thanks so much, Dorte!

Hope you have a wonderful time at your cottage with your hubby...

Just the cover alone makes one want to buy the book. And oh, don't I know exactly what you mean by those tempting: if you liked xxx your may also like xxx. And there you go buying a lot of books you had never heard of before, just like Petty says above.

Have a great time off!

Beth: we have had a wonderful day, and I have written out of doors today.

Margot: it will take a few weeks before I get it, but it great to have something to look forward to.

Mason: I am sure I have.
And I have had a great writing afternoon. 1800 words which is excellent for me.

Elizabeth: you have not only tempted me to buy your book, you have also tempted (or inspired) me to *write* a cozy mystery :D

Louise: it should be really fine. Elizabeth´s other series is wonderful.

Well, I can blame you and your recent guest post for the fact that I also pre-ordered this book.
; )

Mine should be delivered next week and I'm looking forward to it!

Enjoy your time away!

Kelly: oh, should *I* feel guilty now? Well, I am sure you will love it - and then it must be a good thing :D

Kerry: I will - and I do!!! Out in the sun, see you later folks.

I came across an article listing the top 10 Crime Novels set in Africa and I immediately thought of you. Here's the link in the event that you haven't read the article yet.

Kris: I am sure it will be a great read. Thanks to you I have built up a taste for cozies - so much that I am trying to write one.
