The Princess on the Pea
Finally! I raise my crystal glass and nod to my parents-in-law. Neither too little nor too much.
Frederick gives me an encouraging squeeze behind the veil. We have only had the first course so I´d better keep my cool. I sip at a glass of water.

Dorte - I just *love* this story! You got my attention right away, and I especially like the descriptions of the in-laws. What a great surprise ending, too! Well-done!
Uh-oh! There's going to be trouble now! :)
Great story. I don't know how you make such a complete picture in such few words.

Hi Dorte,
Awesome story. Love the end! What a big surprise! Thanks for stopping by my place. Have a great day!

Margot: you shouldn´t encourage me - you don´t know what you will get next! :D
Elizabeth: I think brevity is what I do best - which is why I think it is so difficult to return to my novel manuscript.
Sherrie: thank you! I am glad you liked it.
This is very good!! It grabbed me from the first sentence (and left me wanting more!!).
I love this! I was wondering what the phone call would be about - it surprised me. I could see the whole scene, too. I was thinking to myself, I don't think the narrator is a nice person, but the ending still surprised me! Very nice story.
Kelly: Thank you! - and I believe the point of flash fiction is to stop immediately before the reader has had enough ;D
Belle: thank you! Apart from poor Frederick, I am not sure any of them are nice persons.
What a great story, you really are very imaginative. And so funny too. Well done. I hope you are submitting your work somewhere.
And I really do think you would enjoy Blacklands very much too.
I love this! Different than your usual direction, but I can see that it's headed toward a more violent crime than bigamy.
Sandra: I am so glad you like it. Yes, I do submit my work frantically, but so far I have not sold anything (but I have noticed that they keep it longer, meaning that my texts seem to survive the first round now).
Cathryn: as you may have noticed, this was a set task, meaning that it was supposed to end with a phone call. But yes, this woman might resort to crime to solve her problems - or her mother-in-law might! :D
My bet is on the mother-in-law.
Cathryn: well, who knows :D
