A short post for a long working day.
Two excellent, Scandinavian Ns for this week´s Alphabet meme:
Norwegian Jo Nesbø with the very human and thirsty protagonist, Harry Hole.
And from Sweden, Håkan Nesser, known to English readers for his excellent series about Inspector Van Veeteren, the literate chess player, and also known for his new protagonist, Gunnar Barbarotti, by Scandinavian readers.
If you have not read these two yet, I can assure you they both write first class police procedurals, teeming with the most credible characters.

Dorte - You've chosen find authors! I like Harry Hole very much : ).
Margot: Nesser´s Van Veeteren is quite different. A great reader and thinker so there is less action than when Harry Hole is around, but I think it is very realistic that his tough job makes him consider leaving the police to work in a second-hand bookshop.
Our library has been featuring Scandinavian writers. I hope lots of people are discovering them. And thanks, Dorte.
Patti: oh, it is great when readers discover new, fine crime writers. And great when fine crime writers are acknowledged ;D
Thanks for this contribution Dorte. I need to read more Nesser
Kerrie: you are welcome.
