ANNIVERSARY - and GIVEAWAY

Today my blog has its first birthday! I have actually been blogging here for a whole year, and I have enjoyed it so much more than I imagined possible.

My essential goal was to get in touch with other readers of crime fiction, and that has certainly been a great success.

Other bonuses are all my other blog friends, and the surprise that bloggers all over the world actually do become friends. Friends that care about you, and friends you care about.

In April I participated in a writing course, and as several of you know, I have become more determined not only to read crime fiction, but also write it.

So thank you to each and every one of you who visit me, read my posts, leave comments, encourage me to blog and to write fiction! You are invaluable, and without you, I would never have made it.

And now to the GIVEAWAY.
Leave a comment on today´s post (you have until Thursday the 14th of January by midnight GMT). I will draw one winner of an Amazon gift voucher of £ 10 or $ 15 among the comments, so make sure I can get in touch with you (if you blog, I will just tell you there).
- if you prefer another online bookshop it is fine with me, as long as I can pay online with my visa card.

If you blog or tweet about my competition, please tell me and you will get an extra chance in today´s giveaway.

JUBILÆUM
I dag holder min blog fødselsdag for første gang!

Happy Blog Birthday Dorte...the blogging year flies by very quickly eh? I love your charts (I do love pretty charts as you'll have noticed from my blog) - so nice to see that you have lots of your fellow Danish crime fiction readers (and writers?) visiting. Here's wishing you another great year of blogging.

Happy Blogday, Dorte : ). I'm so glad that you have so many readers; you really do have an excellent blog! May you have many more blogging years.

Very well done Dorte. Happy blogging birthday, and may the coming year be a good one.

Norman: thank you! (Oh, this feels much better than when I grow a year older myself).

Bernadette: thank you! I agree that charts are a nice way to see things at a glance!

Margot: thank you for your kind words! Just you wait, if you go on writing such excellent posts, you will surpass me very soon.

Kerrie: thank you! I think it has begun very well e.g. with the global challenge.

Happy blogging birthday, Dorte!!! I saw the good news on Petty Witter's blog.

Continued success for many more years of blogging!

Petty Witter: thank you, also for blogging about it!

Cathryn: oh, now I am blushing! If you knew how much your encouragement means to me ...

Happy blogiversary! I can't believe the time goes by so quickly. You've been doing a great job and I only wish that those translators and publishers out there would hurry up and put more of the crime books you talk about on the American market :)

Congratulations Dorte!

'Other bonuses are all my other blog friends, and the surprise that bloggers all over the world actually do become friends. Friends that care about you, and friends you care about.'

I liked the above mentioned lines written by you. Friends matter more. All the very best for you all the way from India.

Happy birthday, too, Dorte! I love reading your blog and look forward to more of it in 2010. Much as I would love an Amazon book voucher, I have just worked out (owing to having just done my reading stats for last year) that I have three years' worth of unread books in my house already (and more pour in all the time) so I think I will not enter your competition so that a more deserving person, who has not so many books to read as me, gets a higher chance of winning ;-)

Congratulations again, for a lovely blog. I especially appreciate that you translate your Danish posts into English (and I am sure others appreciate the opposite!).

Congratulations on your first year of blogging! I love seeing graphics too - interesting and pretty at the same time!

I hope you have a fantastic second year of blogging.

Lilly: thank you! And I am sorry I don´t review American fiction more often.

Chitra: thank you. Nice to have a birthday visit all the way from India.

Maxine: thank you very much. And I can see that a few of my heavily TBR-laden don´t want to run the risk of winning ;)
And I can assure you that ever since I got my first comments from you, Norman, and a handful of other English bloggers, I have never even considered blogging in Danish only.

Jackie: thank you very much. The graphics are generated automatically by SiteMeter (a free counter) so it is very simple to put them on my blog.

Dorte my real bonus was to meet you in the blogsphere. Happy anniversary.

Dorte H sagde ...

Oh, Jose, what a gentleman you are :D
Now you have really made my day!

Hi Dorte and Happy Bloggy Birthday.

Blogging is very addictive, and I know I do too much blogging when I should be writing. But then blogging has brought me new friends and an international community feeling, so it's got to be a good thing.

I had a friend compare blogging to chats around the water cooler in the office. Essential in sharing thoughts and staving of the lonelies when you're writing away by yourself. So really we need to blog, it's good for us!

Dorte H sagde ...

Thank you, Vanda.

Yes, blogging is indeed addictive, and after work I also have this difficult choice: should I blog, or try to write a page or two? Quite often I decide to take a blog round first (so when I die at the mature age of 117, I won´t have published a book, but I will have a million blog friends ;))

Happy Blogoversary! You have such an international audience -- how cool. I can't believe you've been at this only 1 year -- you seem like such a pro.

seana graham sagde ...

Wow. Look what a year has accomplished here. Congratulations, Dorte.

(Don't enter me in the drawing, though--I just wanted to post my best wishes.)

Dorte H sagde ...

Beth: thank you! Yes, I love my charts, and it is so fun to try to guess who that visitor from Spain, France or Pennsylvania was :D
And I know I said the same to you when you had your blogoversary: I thought you had been blogging always :D

Seana: thank you! I have certainly had fun, and if I have also learned a bit, that is just an additional bonus.
