Dorte - Wow! That must have been a large tree! And now, of course, my imagination is taking over and I am wondering what might have been found in that trunk when the tree fell... ;-)
Kelly: yes, it doesn´t look like rot so I don´t know why. My daughters have also taken an interest in the tree which seems to have been held together with a huge chain at some point.

It's always sad to see an old tree go down. I always wish an old tree could talk - what stories it would tell.
Margot: my daughter has quite another idea - one could put annoying students INTO the tree ;)
Barbara: hopefully we´ss get some of those stories back when trees are made into book pages.
This would be a wonderful contribution to Shadow Shot Sunday!! Interesting how the stump is hollowed out.
