I love the silhouettes of the birds against the sky and their perfect formations.

Dorte - What proud birds they are! I love that formation, too, and they look so strong and free up there. A great pair of 'photos!

Thank you! For once it was my husband who shot them, but I told him to :D

Don't you just love the beauty of birds in flight?!

Dorte H sagde ...

Kelly: I can´t resist them no matter what they do :D

I have a question for you: what does 'DEN' mean in TORSDAG DEN? Does it mean day? I'm trying to learn some Danish while reading your blog. And how do you pronounce it? Thors-doug den?

Dorte H sagde ...

Clarissa: Torsdag den 27. = Thursday the 27nd.

But how to explain the pronunciation?

Torsdag = ´tors-der (British, not American r-sounds) in Jutland, but with a weak g-sound (approaching the English y-ending).

Does that make sense at all? I have no idea how to teach DANISH sounds :D

So what is the difference between a British sounding R and an American one?
(putting you on the spot, here, Dorte! :D )
Of course, American north of the Mason-Dixon line might disagree with how I pronounce things. Regional accents can really vary!

Kelly: interesting that YOU don´t know because all MY students do ;D

And they also know about American regions & dialects (if they remember what they learnt last year)
