So "Kiss the Blarney Stone" it will be (reading six novels). The challenge is hosted by Books and Movies. Thank you for hosting this one, Carrie.
My preliminary plan:
Adrian McKinty, Dead I Well May Be (2003)
Declan Burke, The Big O (2007)
Tana French, The Likeness (2008)
Brian McGilloway, Gallows Lane (2008)
Colin Bateman, Mystery Man (2009)
Jane Casey, The Burning (2010)

I loved Mystery Man, didn't really like Gallows Lane that much (but everyone else at book club did so I was undoubtedly wrong) and haven't read the others. I've been looking for a copy of The Big O in second hand stores for ages...will be interested to hear what you think of it
Bernadette: I remember how much you liked Mystery Man so that is the reason why I put it on my list. I know reviewers disagree on McGilloway´s books, but I enjoyed the first one very much.
Dorte - I'm very glad you've signed up for this challenge. I really want to see what you think of The Big O and The Burning, especially.
This challenge looks fun and I do have a couple of Irish books on my shelf, but I guess I'd better save myself for the other two challenges I know will be popping up as the year progresses (in addition to the two I've already signed on for).
I'm sure you'll have no problem with this one!
Hi Dorte,
Oooh. I'm thinking of signing up for this. I have Jane Casey's The Burning ready to rip into (I enjoyed The Missing) and Missing Julia by Catherine Dunne. Both authors come from recommendations by Declan Burke. Hmm, I should give the Big O a go, too!
Margot: I am looking forward to all of them.
Kelly: I think it will be fun, and no, it should be no problem to read six Irish novels.
Joanne: it would be fun if you also participate!
Hope I get to some of these.
Good luck with your challenge. These books sound interesting.

Thoughts in Progress
Oh, an Ireland challenge! I'm tempted but I have to be realistic. Maybe in 2012! :-)
Enjoy the challenge.
Patti: I am sure there is one or two you´d really like.
Mason: thank you
Judith: I know what you mean. I am feeling downright reckless as I have just joined a fifth challenge.
