2011 Vintage Mystery Reading Challenge

I have joined a third challenge for 2011, but now I have promised myself I won´t join any more until I can see that I am in charge of the challenge, not the other way round.

The Vintage Mystery Reading Challenge is hosted by Bev, My Reader´s Block.

The main rule: All books must have been written before 1960 and be from the mystery category.

Fortunately, there are many levels, and I chose the easiest, In a Murderous Mood: 4-6 books.

I am sure I will be able to finish this by reading some of the free classics I have downloaded from Amazon.Com and ManyBooks.Net (an excellent source for free classics).

Thank you, Bev, for coming up with this new challenge.

When I saw the preview for your post in my dashboard, I told myself that I was through signing up for challenge for next year. After all, I still want to have time for the RIP Challenge next fall and the Cozy Mystery Challenge in the middle of the year.

But..... after looking at this one closely, I'm VERY tempted. I have read so few authors from this time frame and *drumroll, please* I think I've decided I want a Kindle for Christmas. The free download of Sherlock Holmes would take care of this challenge for the most part! Bet I could get some Agatha Christie, too!

I'll give it some thought for a few days. I already have you to thank for the other two challenges I've signed up for. Might as well make it three. We'll see.

I posted about this challenge yesterday and plan to take the easy level, too. :)

Kelly: they are tempting, those challenges. But I am going to keep my eyes firmly closed until I am in control again!

Joanne: I dare not take more than the easy level either. Somehow a year is not what it was twenty years ago.

Haha! How right you are! :)

Clarissa: sometimes challenges are a great way to make sure you read those books you have already acquired.

Welcome to the Challenge! (I thought I had posted that already...but can't find it.) I hope you have a good time reading the classic mysteries!
