DJ´s Bait in the Box # 42

[The beautiful tin belongs to Julia, A Piece of My Mind]

This week´s classic is known under two different titles – with good reason.

Anthony said with a grin: ´The legal life´s narrowing! I´m all for crime! Here´s to it.´
He picked up his drink and drank it off at a gulp.

´Too quickly, perhaps. He choked, choked badly. His face contorted, turned purple. He gasped for breath – then slid down off his chair, the glass falling from his hand.

Dorte - I think there are ten good reasons this book has more than one title : ).

Margot: that was an elegant clue!

Yes, ten good reasons, but three titles were used for the book, Dorte, not two, though one of those titles is perhaps more associated with two of the movie adaptations.

There is also a private island.

What, what? I'm clueless.

Philip: trust you to know better than me :D
It may be correct, though, that one of the older titles is a film title.

Jose: yes, there is! (with a name that reminds me of a Spanish colour)

Louise: oh, perhaps this one is from before your time? You have probably come across the author, though ;)

Sorry, Dorte, my additional comment confused. The book has been published under three titles. Those three titles have also been variously attached to movie or television adaptations of the book. One of the titles, not surprisingly, has been used only once for a movie, a British production of 1949.

Philip: no; I did find out what you were talking about, I just didn´t know (or remember) this beforehand.

I haven't got a clue as to the title of the book - I never do but I love looking at some of the very cryptic answers your followers give. Pretty box, by the way.
