October Joys

I finished marking essays this afternoon, and now I could have done something about the washing, but then you would never have seen how wonderful our wood is right now, how my husband spends several days every year, or how my daughters spent Sunday afternoon.

What lovely photos, Dorte! I'm so glad you took the time to share them :). Where I live right now, there is no autumn, and I miss it; your photos really helped. I've missed your blog posts, too!

beautiful fall, I miss it (because all we have here is nasty rain and cold winds). I also miss making the little chestnut animals and people. Where I love now there is not one chestnut tree :(

Beautiful pictures, Dorte. The spot you photographed looks so much like the trees in my backyard - it's so lovely to know that they are so similar in their beauty and we're half the world away from each other! And I love the chestnut people/creatures your daughters created.

Oh, it is good to be back among such kind people :D

Margot: we have just spent 3 months in our cottage near the coast. No autumn there either which is why I enjoyed my sunny afternoon yesterday so much.

Jose: thank you very much. I have also missed my blogging community, but it has been so good for my writing.

Lilly: today is beastly so I am so happy I took the opportunity to go outside with the camera yesterday (it was cold, but beautiful).

Belle: they have had so much fun with those chestnuts. And actually, they are 19 and 23 so it is so great to see they can still ´play´ and have fun.

Cathryn: Thanks! I am sure it is good for body and soul, and in wintertime we have all my husands firewood and my summer + autumn photos to keep us warm and happy :D

The washing can wait - it's not every day you get to take such photographs. For some reason I particularly liked the one of the chestnuts (conkers as we call them here in England). Good to have you back.

Petty: and the washing is lying in wait! But you are right, some days are there to be enjoyed. It IS good to be back, especially with so many wonderful people welcoming me back, but if you read today´s post, I think you will agree with me that it was the right decision. It has made a world of difference to my writing.
