Reading Report

Right now I am on page 100 of one of my library books. Viveca Sten, Stille nu (Silent Now), a Swedish debut.

If I had a dog, I would never dare to walk it, because it seems that no matter where you go, you will find a decomposed body!

The environment is the archipelago, and the style might be compared to Camilla Läckberg´s femikrimi. Interesting and likeable characters who all have problems of their own, and a promising plot.

Dorte - I know exactly what you mean. In so many novels I read, it's the person walking the dog who finds the body. This book sounds interesting, and I look forward to reading your review.

I love your comment about the dog. For the same reason you wouldn't want to live in certain places where life insurance must be pretty high judging by the number of murders that happen there.

Margot: my daughter assures me it is good so I am sure I will enjoy the rest whenever I get over my post-exam-sudoku syndrome.

Tracy: yes isn´t it fun so often the dog is used? But while that phenomenon is realistic, I don´t really believe in all the village murders :O

I never thought about it like that before, but you're right! I can think off the top of my head at least five books where a person walking a dog finds the body. Not always decomposed, but a body nonetheless!

Okay -- if my husband does end up getting the dog he really wants, I'll make sure he's the one taking it for a walk in the park.

Belle: of course I am right! I write fiction but I never tell lies! :D

Beth: just tell him why and he will suspect you of paranoia :D
