The correct answer to last week´s bait-in-the-box competition was Daphne du Maurier´s novel "Rebecca".The word which was left out was "Manderley".

Oh you WERE'NT being sneaky. I was so sure you had a trick up your sleeve because I thought it so familiar, but then I realised that's because I have seen (or heard) those lines quoted in the film which over and over again (the film is one of my mother's favourites and she played it a lot when we got our first VCR)
