I couldn´t help it

I have been really good for two months, but the pictures speak for themselves, don´t they?

I ventured into AwesomeBooks and they held me hostage until I had paid ransom! Or something.

  2. Sometimes we just *have* to buy a ton of books, don't we? :) Ha! I had an order like this a few months ago. Enjoy!

  3. Dorte - Now, really. What choice did you even have? You were being held captive! ;-). Enjoy all those wonderful books, and I look forward to your reviews.

  4. LOL! i can't enter any bookstore and leave empty-handed. it is so easy to justify a book purchase.

  5. Well, after all summer is coming, isn't it? You can't let yourself get caught without something good to read.

  6. Dorte, I went to school with Simon Brett so I am glad to see you are buying his books. We did not know each other at school but I met him at Crime Fest 2009, and at Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival.
This bulk purchase will slow up your writing. ;o)

  7. Kerrie: I´d better try one of his books soon then.

Elizabeth: thank you. Once you have seen them...

Margot: I am glad my friends understand the difficult situation I was in.

Care: and the problem is there is only ME holding me back. My husband says he spends more money on books than I do so he doesn´t even try to stop me ;)

Clarissa: well, they cost less than £ 18 in total, including shipping (and that is the problem; these days I can buy loads of books without having to rob a bank).

Norman: no, you are totally wrong there. I never read when I should be writing - that is when I blog, lurk in friendfeed and come up with superfluous facebook statements. ;)

  8. Karen: if this wasn´t such a serious situation, I am afraid I would laugh out loud :D

  9. I know the feeling. And with Kindle it's getting even more difficult to manage my longing for a book I "might not find again" (often my excuse).

  10. You're not the only guilty party. I spent far too much time in the Kindle store yesterday. The evidence is much easier to hide!

  11. Cathryn: oh, but Kindle books don´t count - you can´t actually SEE them ;)

Kelly: yes, that´s what I mean. My family can´t laugh at me because my Kindle books fall out of the shelf ;)

  12. Mo Hayder's Gone is a great book, but I didn't enjoy Jane Casey's The Burning so much. I haven't read the other books, but I hope you enjoy them :)

  13. Hi Nikki-Ann.

Nice to meet you. All of these books have been recommended to me by other bloggers so I expect to enjoy most of them. I am sorry you didn´t like The Burning more. I think I will, though. I have already read the first chapters and can hardly wait to get on with it.

  14. Wow!!! You bought just a few, I see. I think the Brett Fethering mysteries are good, but I like cozies.

  15. Beth: yes, those Simon Brett books look tempting. A cosy mystery is really nice when you have read a couple of fast-paced thrillers.
