The Halloween Murderer

The next week is my autumn holiday. Wonderful!

I have been busy planning my second cosy mystery, The Halloween Murderer, featuring Constable Archibald Primrose and Rhapsody Gershwin again. I have a fairly clear overview of the plot, the place and the characters so I expect I´ll begin writing the first scenes this weekend.

And with regard to those characters, it will hardly come as a surprise that I have had a lot of fun selecting their names. (Remember, you can enlarge the picture by clicking on it.) My own table is a bit more detailed than this one. No need to tell you too much yet, but in my table I have all this information in one page plus colour codes for victims, suspects and villagers who are into witchcraft.

Which name is your favourite?

  4. Margot: I have discovered some time ago that to me, a character does not come alive until he or she has a name. It is such an important part of the writing that I feel much more confident once I have named my characters.

    Mason: thank you.

Beth: I have to be organized when I write, or I´ll never get anywhere. I am glad you saw one of my little name games.

  6. Tracy: but I know what *my* favourite is - though I am happy I´ll be going to write it, not say it aloud :D

  7. They're all fantastic names - I'm spoilt for choice. Maybe Rev Sheridan Thwing is my favourite because it's so unusual. Not that the others are ordinary!

  10. Lots of great names, but I think I might be partial to Rhapsody Gershwin. Lotus and Poppy are especially nice, too.

  11. Thank you, Kelly.

Rhapsody is a great name - I never forget what she is like when I write about her.

And the names Lotus and Poppy also make it easy for me to ´see´ their personalities.

  13. Elizabeth: I thought witchcraft suited a Halloween story, and I hope I can make it interesting though I don´t know very much about the subject yet.
