This book is not a debut, and it does not sound as if it is for dog lovers or the faint-hearted.
“He must have stabbed Jessica too before she ran off because there was a trail of blood, a path that led them to her, although not at first because the field of wheat had closed around her, like a golden blanket. She was lying with her arms around the body of the dog and their blood had mingled and soaked into the dry earth, feeding the grain, like a sacrifice to the harvest. Joseph died where he was, strapped into the pushchair. She liked to think that he never woke up but she didn´t know.”

Dorte, Am glad to see your Bait in the Box is back. Good news for all your fans.
SvarSletI think I do recognise this one...the title of the book is in the form of a question perhaps? and the main character has (to my thinking anyway) his surname and first names the wrong way around
SvarSletDorte - I was wondering when I'd get the good news that you have a new Bait-in-the-Box posted ;-)
SvarSletI've no idea but if the box is anything to go by perhaps it is written by a Scottish writer.
SvarSletJose: I´ll try to come up with one most weeks, but sometimes I am reading ´obscure books´ that no one knows, and then the game is not very funny.
SvarSletBernadette: two points to you! (plus a bonus point because you are so right about that ´first name´)
That was not a complain Dorte, just good news.
SvarSletMargot: LOL
SvarSletTracy: good detective work. Not exactly WRITTEN BY a Scot but ....
Jose: sorry, I was a bit slow there ;)
SvarSletMy excuse is that I just got home from work.
(But at least I didn´t think you WERE complaining).
I don't know but can't wait to find out.
SvarSletCD
Clarissa: I am on p 159, and I can´t wait to find out how it ends. See you all after another 200 pages :D
SvarSletAh, "when will there be......"
SvarSletI don't know and probably don't want to being that I'm definitely a dog lover!! I'm sure I'll be brave and read your review, though.
SvarSletI do love your bait box since I love Walker's shortbread!
At last I know one of your Baits in the Box! So it's not bad news this week.
SvarSletI loved this book.
Maxine: yes: Ahhh! (but still 100 pages to go)
SvarSletKelly: I won´t say I love them, but I thought the truck was the most perfect bait.
Margaret: no; that´s nice, isn´t it ;)
