Consolation

This post was not quite what I had in mind for today. I have half a review on my computer, but my befuddled head is not much better than Blogger. At least I know what way to turn a photo ..

Oh, what can this huge parcel be?

Books, I think ...

Oh, the books I bought for my mother´s Christmas money have come.

NB: six of these authors are new to me - recommended by bloggers whose opinion I value very much. Thank you for your honest but persuasive reviews.

  1. Oh, they all look wonderful, Dorte! Are you sure they weren't addressed to me? ; ). I hope you feel better soon.

  2. Oh, Margot, you can have them for a few days - if I can have your head ;D

  3. Sorry to hear about your headache, Dorte. I hope you are feeling better soon. Some of those books look a bit of a heavy read perhaps a 'Donna Moore' might cheer you up more. ;o)

  4. Thank you, Norman.

I agree Donna´s may be more suitable today than Vargas and Padura, but I think the one on top, M.C. Beaton, might also be within my range even today.

  5. Here, Dorte, is something from Keats that may be appropriate for someone who does not feel well. Even when Keats felt awful (as he often did), he somehow found relief in contemplating Beauty (and Life).

  6. That's some good reading you got there waiting for you.
As far as Blogger goes, I am actually so tired and frustrated with it that I started thinking about switching to Wordpress.

  8. RT: oh, this is the first time someone has comforted me with beautiful poetry! Thank you! - I am very fond of Keats though I don´t know him nearly well enough.

Lilly: yes, I am really looking forward to some of these.

Louise: thank you. I feel better but still a bit dizzy tonight.

  10. Bernadette: thank you. You are right, books are the best kind of consolation - and you don´t even grow fat from reading them :D

  14. Jackie: I bought Red Leaves because a good blogger friend recommended it in glowing terms, so I do have high expectations to that one!
