The slow pacin...Megan Abbott is a wonderful writer. The slow pacing was perfect, echoing Marion slow drift toward corruption. Her Edgar Award winning Queenpin is well worth the read as well. Queenpin is after the style of Jim Thompson though not nearly as noir as he wrote.
