Of course, reading them when they came out, I did not have the perspective of today - but I do remember some of the themes you discuss here. The one aspect of this whole series that sticks most in my mind is the part about Burden's wife dying, his reaction to it, and subsequent related events, which continue in future books.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
